The Renaissance Waverly Hotel, the only AAA 4-Diamond northwest Atlanta area hotel, is in the process of an $8 million renovation throughout the public areas of the hotel, including updated meeting spaces, a new restaurant concept, and new heights of spa relaxation. This Atlanta luxury hotel strives to anticipate and exceed travelers' expectations in the increasingly competitive Atlanta hotel market.

"The renewed atmosphere of the hotel reflects the distinct inspiration of the Renaissance brand while staying true to the unique character of the Renaissance Waverly," said Debbie Karcanes, general manager for the Atlanta, Georgia luxury hotel.

Renovations to the three main ballrooms used for meetings and social events of all types include wireless capabilities and high-speed Internet access, upgraded lighting and sound systems, and new carpeting, wall coverings, and other design elements. High ceilings create an elegant, coffered look for the Grand Ballroom (16,268 sq. ft.), the Habersham Ballroom (5,900 sq. ft.), and the Kennesaw Ballroom (5,252 sq. ft.). Available for smaller meetings and gatherings, the 16 breakout rooms also received a similar facelift, including dramatic framed artwork in each meeting room.

Technology enhancements include high-speed Internet connections and flat screen information signs throughout the hotel. Contemporary dιcor enhancements have been made to the front desk and reception area, the lounge and lobby, as well as to the Garden Court, which offers 14,000 sq. ft. of pre-function space and connects to the 320,000 sq. ft. Cobb Galleria Convention Center.

One of the most dramatic changes at the Atlanta area hotel has occurred in amenities offered, focusing on personal wellness. Spa Waverly has emerged as a relaxing space with a contemporary edge. It now has four spa treatment rooms, including a facial room and specialty massage rooms, with sauna and steam room available. Services include body scrubs, body wraps, fitness counseling and waxing.

"The spa offers a new, highly innovative spa menu with something for everyone, even options for children's treatments," said Amanda Garcia, director for the Atlanta spa.

Additionally, the hotel's expansive Fitness Center has also been updated with Precor equipment, complete with Cardio Theater, and the latest in Technogym weight training machines.

In January 2007 the Renaissance Waverly Hotel unveiled an exciting destination restaurant and bar concept, creating yet another fabulous dining experience in the Atlanta area. Long known for its popular Sunday Brunch, the Renaissance culinary team has been busy putting the final touches on a Tuscan-inspired menu for the dining room at Medici, while the latest in trendy cocktails and an extensive wine selection will be served up in Tosca Blu bar.

The new upgrades enhance guest comfort and enable greater productivity throughout the hotel. The expressive design of the new enhancements brings a sense of southern sophistication to all guests of the Renaissance Waverly Hotel.

A cornerstone in the Atlanta community since opening in 1983, the Renaissance Waverly is located within the Galleria mixed-use complex and connected to the Cobb Galleria Convention Center. Located at the intersection of I-75 and I-285, the 14-story, atrium-style hotel is conveniently located close to the Buckhead and Vinings shopping areas and within 15 minutes of Midtown and downtown Atlanta.
