Australian owned, web 2.0 hotel price comparison website HotelsCombined.com has come out on top in the industry study carried out by 4hoteliers.com.

HotelsCombined.com has come first in research carried out by hospitality and travel news site 4hoteliers.com.

The survey conducted looks at the world's 10 most visited cities: Paris, London, Barcelona, New York, Beijing, Rome, Mexico City, Istanbul, Frankfurt, Moscow, and at the number of hotel results

returned by five leading travel search engines: Kayak.com, TripAdvisor.com, Nextag.com, Sidestep.com and HotelsCombined.com.

4hoteliers findings showed "...that HotelsCombined.com far out searches other travel search aggregator sites. That is to say, they search the most individual hotels (for most cities)."

Upon hearing the results, Michael Doubinski, Business Development Manager at Hotelscombined.com has commented, "It doesn't come as a surprise that we compare more hotels than others. Our past success

includes hotel reservation websites HotelClub.com and RatesToGo.com, now part of the Travelport group, so we have joined the travel meta-search environment with solid industry experience." and "The comparison search market is very complex even comparison shopping experts PriceGrabber.com have had to shut down their travel section. So to me, only the companies with the best technical knowledge and industry experience can survive, and we have both."

He also said, "We are already the leader in terms of usability. We have more hotels, more hotel information from compared sites than any other website. All of which is easily accessible on a single hotel page, and within a smart Web 2.0 interface."
