Early adopters of recruitment video are reaping the reward of attention from passive and active jobseekers.

CareerTV, the nation’s largest site for recruitment videos, and CollegeRecruiter.com, the leading career site used by students and recent graduates searching for internships and career opportunities, recently signed a partnership to provide even more services and information to college students and young professionals’ job hunting.

"Very few employers are maximizing the way they brand themselves online so we are encouraging employers who post their jobs to CollegeRecruiter.com to include within those postings their recruitment videos. A job description combined with a recruitment video (http://www.careertv.com) is a much more powerful message. Among those that have started to do so, the results are very, very encouraging," says Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.

"CareerTV and CollegeRecruiter.com, are targeting the same audience but offering different products for college students and young professionals," explains Jim Buttimer, COO at CareerTV in San Francisco. "We are very pleased with the results produced by the partnership so far."

"We’re always looking for great, new content to offer to our visitors and the career videos (http://www.careertv.com) from CareerTV fit perfectly with that goal," continues Rothberg.

The most recent trends point toward a rapid increase in recruitment videos by employers. These videos are referred to by a variety of names including: corporate videos, career videos, recruitment videos, and employer videos.

"I think Career TV is right on target with what employers need to differentiate themselves. Employer branding videos will become standard for all employers. If you don’t realize this now, you’ve already lost your advantage", says Jim Stroud, an influential blogger and a frequent speaker in the HR industry. "Case in point, companies that use blogs to promote the jobs and culture of their enterprise are already reaping the benefits of active and passive jobseeker traffic and positive company branding. At the same time, their competitors are still wondering if they should be blogging at all. One could easily make that comparison with employer branding video; the early adopters are reaping the reward of attention from passive and active jobseekers while the laggards will wait until everyone else is successful before even trying it," adds Stroud.

"Nothing short of an in-person, face-to-face meeting can allow a candidate to understand the culture and environment of a potential place of employment as much as a video. They will improve the quantity and quality of responses that employers see," concludes Rothberg.
